Untitled - 9.jpgAlstom Projects India Ltd has reported three contracts for hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Valued at over Rs.jpg270 crore, these orders have come in close succession of a major contract recently won by Alstom from Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) to install the 1,000-mw Tehri variable speed pumped storage hydropower plant in Uttarakhand.

The three recent contracts (see table) were placed by private power producers Shiga Energy Pvt Ltd, NSL Tidong Power Generation Pvt Ltd and Haridwar Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. All equipment will be manufactured at Alstom's Vadodara facility in Gujarat, one of the company's largest hydro equipment manufacturing hubs worldwide.

Alstom projects currently under execution include India's large hydropower project under construction-the 2,000- mw Subansiri Lower hydroelectric power plant straddling Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
