Foster Wheeler AG has announced
that a subsidiary of its Global
Power Group has been awarded a
contract by Essar Projects Ltd, for the
design and supply of four circulating
fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generators
for Essar Power Salaya Ltd. The
equipment will be used for Essar's
upcoming 1,200-mw coal-fired power
project at Salaya in Gujarat.
Foster Wheeler will design and
supply four 150-mw CFB steam
generators and provide site advisory
and commissioning services for the
project. The CFB steam generators
will be designed to burn a blend of pet
coke and coal while meeting
applicable environmental regulatory
requirements. Foster Wheeler has
received a full notice to proceed on
this contract of unspecified value.

Signs PPA with Bihar |
Essar Energy plc recently signed a power
purchase agreement with Bihar State
Electricity Board (BSEB) for 300 mw of
contracted capacity from its 1,200-mw
coal-fired Tori I power station which is under
construction in Jharkhand. The binding PPA
has been signed by BSEB with Essar
Energy's subsidiary Essar Power Jharkhand
Ltd and has a 25-year duration, effective
May 2015. |
