US-based, PV inverter manufacturer, Solectria
Renewables will be opening a 300MW
manufacturing plant in China and a 200MW
manufacturing plant in India. It is hoped the additional
capacity will support the local markets as well as
provide job opportunities in these regions. Currently, all
Solectria commercial and utility scale PV inverters are
manufactured in the US.
In March this year, Solectria Renewables celebrated
its 800-mw manufacturing capacity expansion, at a
plant in Massachusetts.
"The Chinese and Indian economies and solar
initiatives are growing rapidly. We have expanded our
manufacturing capacity in North America to 1 GW this
year and we are strategically expanding our
manufacturing into India and China to be at the
forefront of the three most dynamic solar economies in
the world," said James Worden, CEO of Solectria
Renewables, in a statement.
