S&S Power Switchgears Ltd, a Tamil Nadu-based
company manufacturing disconnectors, has delayed
its plans of setting up a vacuum circuit breakers
manufacturing unit with a capacity of 5,000 units per day at
Maraimalai Nagar in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu.
When contacted, a senior company official said, "We are
working on the proposal and the project will be delayed by
three months". The company is awaiting necessary
clearances from state government.
S&S Power Switchgear Ltd was established in 1975 in
technical collaboration with Brush Fusegear, U.K for
manufacturing HRC fuses. In 1986, outdoor porcelain clad
vacuum circuit breakers were introduced into Indian
market for the first time.
