Kone Elevator India has planned
to set up its second
manufacturing unit, which will
be located near its existing unit at
Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Reports
suggest that Kone has already
acquired land in an industrial estate
along the Chennai-Bangalore
highway, 35 km from Chennai. Kone's
existing unit on a 8.5-acre plot at
Ayanambakkam, on the outskirts of
Chennai. The unit has attained full
capacity utilization, prompting
expansion. India is believed to
currently be the biggest market the
second-largest market for elevators,
only after China.
