addition to a local currency component
of Rs.1,212 crore, totaling around
Rs.1,902 crore. The contract, to be
executed in 58 months, also provides for
price variation and foreign exchange

to Rs.14,577 crore.
Mega tender: It may be recalled that
in February this year, BGR Energy had
emerged as L1 bidder for all the 11
supercritical boilers for NTPC's mega
tender. NTPC had invited bids for
supplying 11 units of 660-mw
supercritical boilers and turbinegenerators
for nine power projects.
According to the tender terms, BGR
Energy would be mandated to supply
six boilers. Prior to this Raghunathpur
order, BGR has already received the
order to supply two supercritical boilers
each to NTPC's Solapur project in
Maharashtra and the Meja project in
Uttar Pradesh.
