Odisha Power Transmission Corporation
Ltd, the state power utility, has planned
to form two joint ventures with Power Grid
Corporation of India and Mahanadi
Coalfields, respectively. The state utility
will hold 50 per cent equity in each of the
JVs, it is learnt.The partners will help
implement key intra-state transmission
projects that form part of Rs.5,000-crore
worth of projects that the state utility has
lined up in the XII Plan period. The bulk of
this investment would be towards building
132kV substations worth Rs.3,803 crore.
Odisha has signed MoUs with 29 IPPs
with a generation capacity of around
37,000 mw. To help evacuation,
transformation capacity of around 19,500
MVA would need to be created.
PPP: Odisha Power Transmission has
also made plans to build five 400kV
substations under the PPP mode with a
total investment of Rs.1,100 crore.
