NPTI keen on overseas footprint
National Power Training Institute, the country's
premier human resource development institute in
the power sector, is keen to establish its presence
overseas. The Faridabad-headquartered autonomous body
under the Union power ministry is seeking partners to
establish centres of power management overseas.
NPTI has invited expressions of interest from global
entities to partner the institution in this endeavour. The
objective of setting up the proposed centres of power
management is to play vital role for management
development in the context of the challenges associated
with the growth of the power sector. The centres will be
involved in the training and development of junior, middle
and senior level personnel from the power sector in
developing world-class competencies by providing state-ofthe-
art training, which responds to and proactively meets
the needs of the power professionals.
The successful applicant shall be required to provide the
infrastructure support in foreign countries. The support
sought from partners would include, inter alia, organizing
space required for conducting the classes, arranging faculty
for conducting the course, making available study material
to students, obtaining local approval/clearances as may be
required, etc.
On its part, NPTI would offer assistance on several
counts including identification of program along with
duration, identification of course content, training the
faculty, etc.
Set up in 1965, NPTI operates on an all India basis
through its nine institutes in different zones of the country,
located at Faridabad, New Delhi, Nangal, Bangalore,
Neyveli, Durgapur, Guwahati and Nagpur.
