BGR Energy Systems Ltd has been awarded
an EPC contract valued at
1,698 crore
from TRN Energy Pvt Ltd for setting up a
2x300-mw coal-based thermal power
project in Chhattisgarh. The completion
schedule will be 29 months for Unit I and
32 months for Unit II.
Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd has
won an order worth
204 crore for supply,
erection and commissioning of 765kV class
transformers by Power Grid Corporation of
India. The order is believed to include 33
transformers. Last year, T&R tied up with
ZTR, a manufacturer from Ukraine in bidding
for high-rating transformers for PGCGIL.
ABB has won a
175-crore order from Power
Grid Corporation of India to supply 765kV
and 400kV switchyards for the Champa
substation in Chhattisgarh. ABB's scope
includes design, engineering, supply,
installation and commissioning of the
switchyards, including civil works.
Voith Hydro Pvt Ltd has received an order for
engineering, supply of equipment and
construction of entire plant equipment
package including turbine generator and
electrical and mechanical auxiliaries for the
2x50 mw Sainj hydropower project in
Himachal Pradesh. The project is being
developed by Himachal Pradesh Power
Corporation Ltd. The scheme, with two
Pelton turbines of 50-mw each, is a run-ofthe-
river hydro power plant on the river Sainj
near Suind village, and a tributary of Beas in
Kullu, a district in Himachal Pradesh.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has been
mandated by the AccelorMittal group to
supply a steam turbine generator package in
Ukraine. The
40-crore order is for a 27-mw
STG for the Kryviy Rih steel plant. The
project is to be implemented over the next
18 months. BHEL will manufacture the
STGs at its Hyderabad plant while the
controls & instrumentation will be rolled out
from its Bengaluru facility.
SPML Infra has bagged a
25-crore order
for constructing a 48-km 400kV
transmission line from Bhilwara to
Chittorgarh from Rajasthan RajyaVidyut
Prasaran Nigam Ltd.
Areva T&D India's transmission business,
now part of Alstom Grid, has been
awarded a contract worth
22 crore by
North Eastern Electric Power Corporation
Ltd (NEEPCO) for the supply of a
switchyard and transformers package for
2x55-mw Pare hydropower project,
located in the Papumpare district of
Arunachal Pradesh. The Pare hydropower
project is expected to boost power
generation in north-eastern India.
