KEC International debuts in 765kV substation space

GIS KECKEC International has reported the winning of a 765kV gas insulated substation (GIS) in Tamil Nadu from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The order worth Rs.40 crore marks KEC’s entry in the 765kV GIS substation space, a release by KEC noted.

KEC also announced the winning of several other contracts that include:






  • A Rs.129-crore order from Indonesia's State Electricity Corporation for design, supply and erection of 150 kV Bengkayang-Ngabang-Tayanwith transmission line.
  •  A Rs.196-crore deal from Saudi Electricity Company for design, supply and erection of 380kV transmission lines associated with interconnection of Al Salam, Madinah.
  •  A mandate worth Rs.219-crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India for supply and erection of 400kV transmission line between Kurukshetra-Jalandhar and 220kV transmission line between Jalandhar-Hamirpur covering the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab
  • Two orders totaling Rs.188 crore to supply poles, lattice towers and hardware from Canada, USA, Brazil and Mexico. These orders were secured by KEC’s wholly-owned subsidiary SAE Towers.
