Untitled - 1.jpgGE Energy is conducive to the idea of forming joint ventures in India to further its turbines business. A senior GE Energy official was quoted in the press saying that joint ventures could be considered for three of its products steam turbines, solar turbines and Jenbacher turbines.

Currently GE has two joint ventures in the turbines space, one with Triveni and the other with BHEL. The first, called GE Triveni Ltd caters to steam turbines in the sub- 100-mw category while the second BHEL GE Gas Turbine Services Ltd is for servicing of gas turbines.

GE's Jenbacher combined heat and power systems are used in combined-cycle gas power plants. The GE official said that this system could be gainfully deployed in rural areas where wasteful sewage gas, methane, etc can be used for power generation.
