Schneider Electric India has
announced its foray in the retail
electrical appliances market. The
France-headquartered company said
that it would rollout 4,000 retail outlets
to sell switches, sockets and distribution
systems, under the Schneider Electric
brand, for home and small and medium
business segments.
Over the next few months, the
company would launch its range of
switches and distribution systems in a
phased manner in Maharashtra, Kerala,
Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The
national rollout would be complete by
2012, an official statement said. The
rollout will begin with the 'ZENcelo' and
'Vivace' range of switches and the 'Neo-
Break' range of distribution systems.
The market size of switches and
distribution boards in India is growing at
16 per cent year-on-year and is pegged at
2,400 crore. Of this home market size is
