
Nuclear Power Corporation of India has awarded a turnkey
implementation contract to the Electrical Projects Division (EPD)
of BGR Energy Systems Ltd. The order relates to two of NPCIL's
upcoming nuclear power plants. Valued at

444.48 crore, the order
involves supply, erection, testing and commissioning of main plant
electrical systems, including nuclear island electricals, at Kota,
Rajasthan (2 x 700-mw) and Kakrapara, Gujarat (2x700-mw). BGR
Energy has projected completion of the contract between September
2015 and March 2016.
Commenting on the order, V. Balakrishnan, President & CEO, EPD, BGR
Energy Systems, said, "This happens to be the single biggest order for
main plant electricals received by BGR Energy so far and would
facilitate qualifications in the future. The order is a measure of the
confidence that major power generators in both the public and private
sectors have come to vest in BGR's competitive capabilities."
