Schneider Electric and MIT, Manipal
have announced the launch a new
course "Advanced Energy Management"
designed to promote technical
excellence in the field of electrical,
electronics, software and control
engineering. Schneider Electric and
MIT, Manipal have signed an MOU
covering 'University partnership for Lab
and Curriculum development'.
As a part of the program, Schneider
Electric will set up a modern lab with
the state of the art electrical and
electronic equipment with associated
software covering industrial automation,
control systems, power monitoring &
control systems and switching
protection devices. These solutions
based devices developed by Schneider
Electric will be given to MIT without any
additional costs and MIT will provide
the infrastructure and other associated
equipment to set up the "Schneider
Electric Centre of Excellence" in its
campus.
The three-year agreement would
facilitate week-long training for the
faculty from MIT at Schneider's R&D
facility at Whitefield in Bangalore. This
would not only ensure active
participation between industry and
academia but it would also in a long way
be instrumental in enhancing the
productivity of these young engineers, a
statement by Schneider said.
