
Vikram Solar Ltd, a Kolkata-based
solar module manufacturing
Indian multinational, has
announced the commissioning of two
new power plants-in Gujarat and
Orissa. The Gujarat power plant is a 5-
mw power plant and the second plant
at Rourkela in Orissa is capable of
producing 1 mw power.
The Gujarat project, located at
Bachchau, is sponsored by Konark
Gujarat Pvt Ltd. The Orissa power
plant in Orissa is sponsored by Molisati
Vinimay Pvt Ltd and located at Ranja
village, in Deogarh district.
The launch of the power plants is in
line with the company's aim of
consolidating its position in the green
energy industry. Vikram Solar is
currently involved with 80 mw of solar
power projects nationally.
Speaking on the occasion Gyanesh
Chaudhury, Managing Director,
Vikram Solar Ltd, said: "Today we are
pleased to promote a new, clean, costeffective
in-state electric generation
with the commencement of two new
power plants one in Gujarat and the
other in Orissa respectively. We are
committed to protect and encourage
better use of natural resources of our
country by implementing better
technologies."
