Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd
has commissioned a 250-mw
unit at Harduaganj Thermal
Power Station (TPS), in Uttar
Pradesh. State power utility Uttar
Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan
Nigam Ltd had placed the order for
supplying two units on BHEL. The
first unit was commissioned in
September 2011. The new unit will
generate 6 million kwh per day, to
be fed to the state grid.
For the same utility, BHEL is
currently executing contracts for a
250-mw unit at Parichha and two
units of 500-mw each at Anpara
thermal power station.
BHEL's scope of work in the
Harduaganj contract envisaged
manufacture, supply, erection,
testing and commissioning of the
main plant package along with
associated auxiliaries and civil
works for the main plant package
for this power project.
The equipment for the project
was supplied by BHEL's Haridwar,
Trichy, Ranipet, Hyderabad,
Bangalore, Bhopal and Jhansi
plants, while BHEL's Power Sector -
Northern Region is undertaking
erection and commissioning of the
equipment, a BHEL release noted.
BHEL currently has capacity to
manufacture 20,000 mw of power
equipment annually.
