KEC International Ltd has bagged Rs.868 crore
worth of fresh orders for supply and laying of
transmission, power systems and telecom lines.
The RPG Group company has secured
transmission orders in India, Abu Dhabi, Tunisia
and Philippines. These include Rs.227 crore
order from Power Grid Corporation of India for
supply and erection of transmission lines in
Jharkhand on turnkey basis and Rs.278 crore
order for laying transmission line between
Ruwais and Bab grid stations in Abu Dhabi on a
turnkey basis, an official statement said.
Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd has received
an order worth Rs.571 crore from Power Grid
Corporation of India for setting up a 765kV
double-circuit transmission line aggregating
249 km. KPTL also landed another Rs.33-crore
order by an unnamed private entity for setting up
a 400kV single-circuit line of around 36 km.
Jyoti Structures has received orders for turnkey
execution of two transmission lines in Uganda
that will connect Uganda's power grid with Kenya
and Rwanda. This is after successful completion
of an order from the same Ugandan utility for a
network of transmission lines and substations
related to the Bujagali Hydro Power Project. The
Bujagali scheme was jointly financed by Sithe
Global, Sir Aga Khan Foundation and African
Development Bank.
BS Ltd (formerly BS TransComm Ltd) has bagged
orders aggregating to Rs.117 crore, the
Hyderabad-headquartered company said in a
stock exchange filing. The orders relate to supply
of 765kV and 400kV transmission line towers for
Power Grid Corporation of India and other state
government power utilities. BS Ltd has two
transmission tower manufacturing units in
Hyderabad, with a total annual capacity of 2.4
lakh tonnes.
Suzlon Group has achieved cumulative orders for
wind turbines aggregating around 140 mw over a
two-month period ending October 31, 2012.
These cover various orders from Eastern Europe,
France, Germany and India. Some of the
companies that have placed these orders include
the Baidyanath Group, Rajasthan Gums (P) Ltd,
Gujarat Alkalis & Chemicals Ltd, and Belgiumbased
BredeKop Wind. The orders would see the
deployment of latest wind turbine models of both
REpower and Suzlon Energy.
Fedders Lloyd Corporation has been awarded
contracts worth $34.5 million from Ethiopia
Power Corporation. The project, funded by the
Ethiopian government, is for supply of
distribution transformers, cables and other
accessories. The company has also landed
orders worth $18.5 million from Power Holding
Company of Nigeria Plc for supply and
installation of 330/132kV and 132/33kV
substations on turnkey basis. This project has
received World Bank funding.
