Havells India Ltd recently
unveiled India's first large
scale lighting fixture plant
of the country at Neemrana,
Rajasthan. The state-of-the-art
plant is based on the technology
from Sylvania.
Set up with an initial investment of
about Rs.100 crore, this investment is
part of company's strategy to
strengthen its position in the fast
growing and rapidly emerging
lighting fixtures market. The plant
will manufacture over 60 designs and
about 300 SKUs (stock keeping units)
currently employing about 250
people. The number of designs and
SKUs will get enhanced and refreshed
from time to time. The plant will
cater to both, consumer and
industrial lighting applications. The
plant will help to effectively control
production efficiency & quality,
increase customer responsiveness
and shorten delivery response time, a
statement by Havells India said.
Equipped with the latest and
best-in-class machines from Japan,
Germany and Italy, the plant also
possesses robotized box bending
machines, the first in North India
and 3rd in the country. Spread over
30 acres of land and with over 2 lakh
sqft of working space under single
roof, the plant is uniquely placed to
offer customized lighting solutions
to customers with great speed.
Until now the Indian customer was
heavily dependent on the Chinese
imports as the sector was restricted
for small scale industries that
resulted in having limited choices
and quality options. This plant will
establish company's dominance as a
leading lighting company that can
specifically work with customers to
help them upgrade their lighting
across segments and applications.
