Emco Ltd has bagged an order worth
Rs.458 crore from Power Grid
Corporation of India Ltd for execution of
800kV HVDC transmission line tower
package (TW-05) from Champa to
Kurukshetra. This is part of the 800kV
HVDC overhead transmission line
network to be laid from Champa Pooling Station in Chhattisgarh to
Kurukshetra, Haryana. It is designed to carry 6,000 mw power from
power generating stations in Chhattisgarh to the Northern Grid. The
orders involve supply of galvanized steel towers from the company’s
facility located at Asoj, Gujarat.
Emco bagged this project after surpassing a stringent qualification
requirement from the client and against very stiff competition, a release
from Emco noted. The company has successfully commissioned more
than 500 km 765/400kV transmission Lines in the current financial year
(FY13) for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, it said.
