Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd, in a release, announced the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,395 crore. These included two power transmission line orders—one each in Tamil Nadu and Telangana—collectively valued at Rs.1,207 crore. A Rs.188-crore order for a pipeline order from Reliance Gas Pipeline Ltd was also amongst the orders won.

KEC International Ltd reported the winning of orders worth Rs.1,001 crore in the Indian and global markets. Orders worth Rs.822 crore were secured by the company’s transmission & distribution business to be executed in India apart from various global markets like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Afghanistan, Zambia, Mexico, Brazil, US and Chile. The cable business orders valued at Rs.160 crore for supply of power and telecom cables. Most striking of the orders was a Rs.19-crore mandate received for setting up of grid interactive solar photovoltaic power plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Cable maker KEI Industries has bagged an order worth around Rs.384 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, relating to supply and service contracts for Package A & B under integrated power development scheme (IDPS) works in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has won an order from Tata Power Renewable Energy for the supply of fifty wind turbine-generators of 2-mw capacity each. The 100-mw wind farm is coming up at Nimbagallu in Andhra Pradesh, by May 2017. Gamesa will construct the wind farm for Tata Power Renewable and also maintain it under a separate contract. The T-104 machines have been specifically designed for low wind regions such as Nimbagallu, a statement from Gamesa said.

Jyoti Ltd, based in Vadodara, has announced the winning of an order valued at Rs.139 crore from Karnataka-based DRN Infrastructure. The order relates to design, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of five metallic volute pumps along with allied mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment; a 220kv electric substation, a 11-km 220kV transmission line, etc for the Tubchi Bableshwar Lift Irrigation Scheme under Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd.

Om Metal Infraprojects has landed an order valued at Rs.106 crore from Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd to install hydro-mechanical apparatus for the Vyasi hydropower project in the northern state. In a stock exchange filing, Om Metal Infraprojects said that the order was to be executed in 25 months.

Eon Electric Ltd has secured an extension to the ongoing LED streetlights installation project in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. As part of the extended project, Eon will be installing additional 33,153 LED streetlights in the city. The order was placed by Central PSU Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. Earlier in 2015, Eon Electric had secured contracts to install LED streetlights at Jodhpur and Aligarh in a competitive bid involving other leading players. The project is a part of the Rajasthan government initiative to conserve energy through replacement of conventional lights by LED Lights. These streetlights have been installed with a centrally controlled system, which continuously monitors and reports satisfactory performance and energy conservation of these LED streetlights, a release from Eon Electric noted.

Diamond Power Infrastructure has received an order worth Rs.44 crore from Powergrid NM Transmission, a project subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India, for the supply of conductors. Diamond Power will supply 765kV conductors for the 250-km Salem-Madhugiri transmission line of Powergrid NM’s Nagapattinam project in Tamil Nadu. Earlier in December 2015, Diamond Power had received on order from PGCIL for the supply of 1,981 km of conductors associated with the 400kV Kameng-Bongaigaon transmission line and the Lower Subansari package.
