Brugg cables for NZ quake restoration work

EM NEWS BUREAU ,  Thursday, May 12, 2011, 11:38 Hrs  [IST]

Untitled - 48.jpgBrugg Cables is actively involved in the reconstruction efforts in Christchurch in New Zealand. In February this year the region was hit by an earthquake measuring 6.3. In Christchurch, the city most affected by the earthquake, countless houses collapsed and the supply of electricity broke down completely. The local power utilities now urgently need replacement parts in order to guarantee the supply of electricity. Brugg Cables has launched the express production of parts and fitting tools for delivery to New Zealand. Brugg Cables received the order thanks to its extreme flexibility and its ability to meet the very tight delivery deadlines and is thus helping to bring the electricity grid back online as fast as possible, a company statement said.

Domestic cable maker KEI Industries Ltd has tied up with Brugg Cables to manufacture EHV cables in India.
