Crompton Greaves has acquired US-based QEI Inc at an
approximate enterprise value of $30 million. Based in
Springfield, New Jersey, USA, QEI is a market leader in
providing SCADA and automation systems and products for the
management of electric transmission and distribution networks in
electric utilities and electrified transit. The company was originally
formed in 1960 as Quindor Electronics.
This is CG's ninth acquisition in a span of six years (beginning
2005); the others being Pauwels, Ganz, Microsol, Sonomatra, MSE
Power Systems, PTS, three businesses in Nelco, and Emotron.
