Untitled - 3.jpgCrompton Greaves, on June 11, dispatched India's first 765kV, 80MVAr single phase reactor to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for its Gaya substation in Uttar Pradesh. The ultra high voltage (UHV) reactor was flagged off by Laurent Demortier, CEO and Managing Director, CG. With this, CG has achieved another milestone in the UHV transmission domain. In the recent past, the company has successfully manufactured and dispatched a 765kV generator transformer and interconnecting transformers. This project was of strategic importance for the company's entry into the UHV market. The order was despatched ahead of its scheduled delivery in July 2012. With an installed base of over 120 million kVA in transformers, Crompton Greaves has emerged as India's largest supplier of a wide range of transformers and reactors for all critical applications, a CG release noted.
