Siemens Energy has received a €70-million order to supply the power train consisting of the key components for the combined cycle power plant Dhuvaran Phase III in Gujarat. The order has been placed by Larsen & Toubro that is constructing the power plant for the owner, Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd.

Delivery of the components is scheduled for 2012. Following commissioning by the end of 2013, this plant will supply ecofriendly electricity to the region around the industrial and university city of Vadadora, in Gujarat state.

The gas-fired power plant Dhuvaran CCPP Phase III with an installed capacity of 375 mw is designed as a single-shaft plant in which the main components-the gas turbine, steam turbine and generator-are arranged on one single shaft. Siemens is supplying a SCC5-PAC 4000F (1S) power train, comprising an SGT5-4000F gas turbine, an SST5-3000 steam turbine and an SGen5-2000H hydrogen-cooled generator, plus the SPPAT3000 instrumentation and control system for the turboset as well as the ancillary and auxiliary systems.
